Parkland College is highly recognized for its engagement of industry and training of students to enter the workforce as employable assets. They also have a strong dual credit program to advance high school students and have an excellent prep program for entry to the University of Illinois.
Training Center Programs
Training Center programs range from industrial applications to technology and IT to health care. The programs are flexible from traditional class-room setting to custom classes for on the job training which can be held in a classroom or at the workplace.
Examples of these include the Industrial Maintenance Program which is a partnership between Kraft Foods, Plastipak Packaging and Flex-N-Gate where students learn how to operate and maintain machinery used at these operations and graduate with an opportunity to be hired directly by one of these companies.
The Health Care training program is a partnership with local healthcare industry prepares students for professions in nursing, as medical laboratory technicians and assistants, radiologic technology, respiratory care, surgical technology, veterinary technology and more.
